Tribune History
The Tribune Building was built in 1924 during the oil boom days by legendary industrialist and philanthropist Charles Page from nearby Sand Springs. The building housed the operations of The Tulsa Tribune, the city's evening newspaper, from January 1925 until The Tulsa Tribune changed locations in 1942.
The Tribune Building was situated in a warehouse district, which was also the original central business district of Tulsa at the turn of the 20th Century. However, when rail service came to the city in 1882, Archer Street was immediately north of the railroad tracks while the remainder of downtown was south.
During the 1940's and 1950's, a moving and storage company occupied the building. In the early sixties until its abandonment in 1971, the building housed John 3:16, a mission and shelter for homeless men.
The Tribune Building was added to the National Register for Historic Places in 1979.
American Residential Group purchased the Tribune Lofts building in 1999 and has completely renovated the building into Lofts that offer the charm and character of downtown Tulsa from the 1920's updated with stylish modern interior design.
The residences at The Tribune Lofts have been carefully designed to preserve the style and character of the historic structure.
